I. BACKGROUND
This action was commenced on October 17, 2001, when the interpleader plaintiff, Lutheran Brotherhood, filed an interpleader complaint pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1335. Lutheran Brotherhood alleges that it is a fraternal benefit society organized and existing under the laws of Minnesota, and no other state, with its principal place of business in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
