The defendants, Leonard Scaffidi and Michael Daddona, alias Mike Letts, with 10 others were in-dieted at the December, 1927, term of the District Court for the District of Mássachusetts, for conspiring on or about the 20th • day of September, 1927, and on divers other dates, to violate the National Prohibition Act. They were arraigned on the 21st day . of February, 1928, and pleaded not guilty. On January 2, 1929, they were set for trial before a judge and jury.
