This action was brought by Ashland Oil, Inc. to enjoin the Federal Trade Commission from transferring information obtained from Ashland to the House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation of the Committee on Interstate and Foreign Commerce. The Subcommittee Chairman, Rep. John E. Moss, intervened. The information in question consists of Ashland’s reserve estimates for all its natural gas leases and contracts on federal lands.
