OPINION

TOUSSAINT, Chief Judge.

This appeal is from an order denying appellant Christopher Griep’s petition for a writ of habeas corpus. Pursuant to Minn.Stat. § 589.30 (1996), this court expedited the appeal. Griep argues that the prison disciplinary proceeding against him was untimely. We disagree and affirm.

FACTS

August 1, 1995, Griep was sentenced to 20 months in prison for a fifth-degree controlled substance offense conviction. His supervised release date (SRD) was calculated as August 23,1996, and his expiration date as March 15, 1997. Griep was placed on work release status in April 1996,…
