This is an appeal from a conviction on both counts of a two-count indictment charging appellant with introducing a false writing and giving false testimony during an earlier criminal proceeding against him, in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 1001, 1621. 1 In the prior proceeding, appellant had been charged with possession of stolen government property, including a jeep motor, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 641, and had been acquitted by the jury.
