ROSS, Circuit Judge.

This was a libel, brought by one Herman Frenz, as master of the American schooner Del Norte, against the appellant, Hume, as owner of the schooner, and against the appellee insurance companies, insurers of the vessel, to recover his wages for a period of something over five months succeeding the stranding of the vessel on the 11th day of June, 1904. The libelant alleged in his libel that during the period mentioned the defendants thereto were the owners and operators of the schooner, and that he performed services as master thereof at their request.
