Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the Supreme *610Court, Queens County (Katz, J.), rendered June 12, 2001, convicting him of attempted murder in the first degree (two counts), criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is reversed, on the law, and a new trial is ordered.
