FAINER, J.*

Plaintiff E. F. Hutton & Company, Inc. (Hutton) appeals from a judgment of dismissal entered after the trial court sustained general demurrers of defendant City National Bank (City Bank) to plaintiff’s second amended complaint. The minute order sustaining the demurrer stated that the court’s order was made “. . . per points and author-*65[ties in moving papers[1] . . . [and the demurrers were sustained] without leave to amend. ” (Italics added.)

Plaintiff, as a drawer of 18 checks totalling $638,598, sought recovery from defendant City Bank, a collecting bank,2 for losses it…
