It appears from the pleadings and proofs found in the record filed in this case, that the Swedish Evangelical Mission Covenant of America, (called herein the covenant,) a corporation not for pecuniary profit, was organized under the laws of the State of Illinois in the year 1885; that in 1887 it established a mission for the education and Christianization of the Eskimos at Unalaklik, Alaska; that in 1893 it established a second mission at Chinik, in said territory; that Alex Edward Carlson was placed by it in charge of the mission at Unalaklik and…
