Like many Americans in the recent past, Plaintiff Chantal Sutton found herself unable to make her mortgage payments in 2012 and applied for a mortgage loan mod*257ification. In October 2013, she received a permanent modification, which lessened her monthly payments but left her with a balloon payment due at the mortgage’s termination in March 2019.
