OPINION

MINZNER, Justice.

1. Defendant Vincent Vallejos was convicted for possession of a controlled substance under NMSA1978, § 30-31-23 (1989), after he bought a quantity of crack cocaine from an undercover police officer during the course of a “reverse sting operation.” On review by the Court of Appeals, Vallejos claimed, inter alia, that the trial court erred in ruling that there was no objective entrapment as a matter of law and in refusing to instruct the jury on objective entrapment.
