Respondent, plaintiff below, obtained a judgment in the sum of $10,000 against appellant Thompson, trustee of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company, for the death of her husband, Thomas M. Wilson. The trustee duly appealed.
[1] The case was brought under the Federal Employers' Liability Act and the Safety Appliance Act. It was admitted by the defendant that at the time Wilson met his death the train crew of which he was a member was engaged in work directly connected with interstate transportation.
