RONEY, Circuit Judge:

Charles Ben Howell, a. Texas lawyer, appeals the denial of habeas corpus relief from two convictions for contempt in Texas state courts. The first contempt citation resulted when Howell, as an attorney, failed to make a disclosure to the court of collateral legal proceedings concerning a divorce case he was handling, even when directly questioned by a state court judge. The second contempt conviction came during the hearing on the first contempt charge when, as a witness, Howell refused to answer a question on cross-examination, even when ordered by the trial judge to do…
