Appellant Browning is a most persistent applicant for post-conviction reüef- In a Kansas state court he was. charged with seven felony offenses, found: guilty of each by a jury, and sentenced' on each. On direct appeal the eonvictionwas affirmed. State v. Browning, 182 Kan. 244, 320 P.2d 844, appeal dismissed 356 U.S. 583, 78 S.Ct. 1002, 2 L.E.d.2d 1063. Thereafter he brought a series of state and federal habeas corpus proceedings. See Browning v.
