In 1965, Plaintiffs sued Tangipahoa Parish School Board, seeking desegregation of the school district. Since then, numerous remedial injunctions have been issued in pursuit of the ultimate goal: full unitary status and dismissal of the case. In 2008, the district court granted the parties’ joint motion to create the position of Chief Desegregation Implementation Officer.
