This is a suit by Frank Newnam, appellee, against the city of San Antonio, appellant, to recover the salary of city marshal from the date of his discharge until the expiration of the term for which he had been originally appointed. His discharge is claimed to have been unlawful because the reason therefor was political. The jury, upon the one special issue submitted, found that appellee had been discharged for political reasons. The court rendered judgment in favor of appellee for the amount of salary claimed, viz. $1,555.55, together with 6 per cent. interest from the dates when each monthly…
