Following a jury trial, the defendant, Scott E. Chipman, was convicted of murder in the first degree, armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, two indictments charging malicious injury to property exceeding $250, and unlawfully carrying a rifle or shotgun.
