Russell McDaniel, on June 29, 1924, died as the result of personal bodily injury caused by an external, violent and purely accidental event. An indemnity policy had been issued to him against such injury, by appellant, on May 17, 1924, for the principal sum of $2,000. The annual premium for the policy was $23.60, payable as hereinafter stated. He was at the time in the employ of the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis Railway Company at Mattoon, and had been since September, 1922, and so remained to the time of his death.
