Fernessa McConico appeals from a judgment of the Jefferson Circuit Court (“the trial court”) dismissing her action against Eric Patterson, the former mayor of the City of Leeds (“the city”), and Brandon Falls, the district attorney for Jefferson County.1 In her second amended eom-*413plaint—the complaint that was before the trial court at the time the action was dismissed'—McConico made the following assertions.
