EVERETT, Chief Judge:

A military judge sitting alone as a general court-martial at Fort Eustis, Virginia, tried Castillo on a variety of charges — in-*148eluding rape and forcible sodomy at divers times with a daughter and a stepdaughter. Most of the charges were dismissed by the judge on speedy-trial grounds; and evidence on the merits was received only as to a charge of disobeying an order to avoid contact with certain family members, and as to a charge of soliciting Lisa Gale Sells to commit sodomy, in violation of Articles 90 and 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10…
