Defendant contends that he was denied the effective assistance of counsel. We note that defendant moved for postconviction relief pursuant to CPL 440.10, claiming ineffective assistance of trial counsel. Defendant’s arguments on appeal are directed at least in part at County Court’s denial of his motion without a hearing. It does not appear, however, that defendant sought permission to appeal (see, CPL 450.15 [1]); nor does it appear that County Court’s denial of the motion was reduced to a written order.
