The prisoner is charged with having, with intent to extort money from one Charles B. Edwards, feloniously and maliciously, by a written communication, threatened to accuse said Edwards of the crime of assault with intent to murder. The communication is set out in the information, and purports that one James Allen will commence proceedings against Edwards if the prosecuting attorney does not; and will also bring suit for damages, in both of which suits he intends defendant for the chief witness, whose testimony will be sufficient to convict; and it demands of Edwards whether he will stand…
