Appeal from a judgment of the Supreme Court at Special Term (Conway, J.), entered March 12, 1980 in Albany County, which dismissed petitioners’ applications, in proceedings pursuant to CPLR article 78, to compel respondent to appoint petitioners to the New York State Police. With the enactment of Chapter 276 of the Laws of 1979, the functions and powers of the Long Island State Parkway Police and the Niagara State Parkway Police were transferred to the Division of State Police and its superintendent.
