Appeal by the defendants, William H. Foster and others, from a judgment of the Supreme Court in favor of the plaintiff, entered in the office of the clerk of the county of Oneida on the 12th day of November, 1898, upon the verdict of a jury for $125, and also from an order entered in said clerk’s office on the 25th day of October, 1898, reducing the verdict to $114 and denying the defendants’ motion for a new trial made upon the minutes.

Spring, J.:

Sylvan Beach is a village incorporated under a special act, and the various acts pertaining to it were revised and consolidated by chapter 812 of the Laws of 1896. On the 20th of July, 1896, the board of trustees of the village duly enacted certain regulations for the government of the village.
