Marvel Thompson pleaded guilty to conspiring to possess and distribute cocaine and heroin, see 21 U.S.C. §§ 846, 841(a)(1), and was sentenced to 540 months in prison. This court affirmed the judgment. See United States v. White, 582 F.3d 787 (7th Cir.2009). Thompson then filed a motion to vacate under 28 U.S.C. § 2255 alleging that (1) the government breached agreements with him (and two others who cooperated on his behalf) to recommend that he serve between 108 and 135 months in prison, and (2) his attorneys rendered ineffective assistance at the time he pleaded guilty, at sentencing, and on…
