Vilma Menendez-Donis petitions for review of an order of the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) affirming an immigration judge’s (IJ’s) denial of asylum. We affirm the BIA’s decision.

I

Ms. Menendez-Donis is a native of Guatemala. She fled to the United States after being beaten and gang raped in her home, entering the country without inspection. She conceded that she was deporta-*917ble but sought asylum on the ground of political persecution. See 8 U.S.C. §§ 1101(a)(42)(A), 1158.
