This is an appeal from a decree of a single justice of this court, affirming a decree of the Probate Court, by which the account of the New England Trust Company, a trustee holding a fund, the income of which is payable to a tenant for life, with remainder over, was disallowed. The system pursued by the trustee with reference to the investments which it had made in bonds, and other promises to pay, of the United States government, or of municipal or railroad corporations, due on a day certain, and which had been bought at a premium, has been to ascertain, by tables in use among bankers and…
