The petitioner asks damages for personal injuries he allegedly sustained in a shipboard accident while a crew member aboard the respondent’s Great Lakes vessel, the tanker Orion. His complaint alleges respondent’s liability both for negligence under the Jones Act, 46 U. S. C. § 688, and for unseaworthiness under the general maritime law;1 a claim for maintenance and cure is also *326alleged.
