BARKETT, Circuit Judge:
Georgia Warden Tony Turpin (“the state”) appeals from the district court’s order granting in part Floyd Ernest Hill’s petition for federal habeas corpus relief as to his death sentence. Hill cross-appeals from the district court’s denial of all of his claims challenging the validity of his conviction, as well as from the denial of the balance of his claims pertaining to his death sentence.
