The issue here is whether reversal is required where a witness testifies that the prosecutor promised him nothing in exchange for his testimony when in fact the prosecutor promised to call the cooperation of the witness to the attention of the District Attorney who was prosecuting the witness on an unrelated charge. Before us is a direct appeal from a judgment for murder in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.
