This suit was brought by the widow of Lloyd B. Skinner, as administratrix, against the Illinois Central Railroad Company to recover damages for his death.

The deceased, at the time he was killed, and for a long time prior thereto, had been in the employ of the railroad company as car inspector in its yards at Paducah, and it was a part of his duties to do light repair work on cars, and to couple the cars and air hose thereon when trains were being made up in the yards.
