ELMORE, Judge.

John C. Prelaz and Deborah A. Prelaz (“plaintiffs”) commenced this action against the Town of Canton (“the Town”) in Haywood County Superior Court. Plaintiffs prayed the trial court for a declaration of title recognizing them as the rightful title holders of certain real property and to enter an order for the recovery of rents. This real property consists of approximately 110 acres and is known as Camp Hope (“the Camp Hope property” or “the property.”). A trial began in the matter on 6 May 2013.
