Defendant appeals from a judgment of the district court of Cass county, entered upon a verdict of a jury.

The complaint is upon a promissory note, alleged to have been executed by the defendant to the Grain Belt Manufacturing Company and by the payee, before maturity and for value, transferred to the plaintiff. The answer contains a general denial and three alleged separate defenses.
