Defendant, Ernesto Valle, appeals from his conviction of first-degree murder (720 ILCS 5/9 — 1(a)(1) (West 2006)) with a sentencing enhancement based on defendant’s having personally discharged the firearm that killed the victim (730 ILCS 5/5 — 8—1 (a) (1) (d) (iii) (West 2006)).
