The defendant was convicted on an indictment 1 charging him with being an accessory after the fact to an assault with intent to murder. G. L. c. 274, § 4. 2 He was sentenced to serve one year and one day at Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Walpole from and after the expiration of the sentence he was then serving. By his bill of exceptions he assigns as error the denial of his motions for a directed verdict, 3 the admission of certain evidence and a portion of the judge’s supplementary charge to the jury.
