This suit was brought by Nancy Eeed against the Western Union Telegraph Company to recover damages for alleged negligence in delivering a telegram addressed to her notifying her of the death of her sister at Houston. It appeared from the petition that the telegram was sent about 6’ocloek p. m. on February 11, 1903; was received at Hempstead a little after 7 p. m. on the same day by the night operator, and delivered to the plaintiff the next morning about 8 o’clock; that when the plaintiff got the telegram she called up a sister by telephone and was advised that the…
