This action involves a dispute over the ownership of the commercial rights to use the names and likenesses of Stanley Laurel and Oliver Hardy (“Laurel and Hardy”), the two famous comedians both now deceased. The complaint was filed on January 29, 1971 by plaintiff Larry Harmon Pictures Corporation (“Harmon”), a California corporation, against defendants Hal Roach Studios, Inc.
