—John Skaggs was a switchman working in Sherman. On the 8th day of October, 1901, in attempting to step upon a narrow iron step fastened to the lower part of the pilot on an engine with which he was working, he fell and had one of his legs so badly mangled by the moving engine that amputation was necessary.
