Defendant appeals a judgment of conviction for seven counts of identity theft, ORS 165.800, and one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, former ORS 475.992(4)(b) (2003), renumbered as ORS 475.840(3)(b). He assigns error to the trial court’s denial of his motion to suppress evidence that was found in a safe belonging to him that he had left in a hotel room past checkout time.
