Connie Sykes appeals from the trial court’s grant of summary judgment to Colony Regency Partners Limited d/b/a Regency Park Apartments, and H.D.S. Contractors, Inc., in this action for damages stemming from Sykes’ fall on premises owned by Colony Regency and being repaired by H.D.S.
Sykes had lived at Regency Park Apartments for five years when on May 20, 1994, sometime between 8:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., she left her apartment en route to the parking lot. Sykes walked on the sidewalk and then took a short cut along a dirt path between two apartment buildings toward another…
