The Ridgely Protective Association is an insurance company engaged in the business of insuring members of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows against disability caused by sickness or injury, and against death caused by accident. The company has its home office at Worcester, Massachusetts. On October 22, 1917, the company issued a policy of insurance to Frederick A. Germain, a widower, for the principal sum of $2,250, payable in the case of his accidental death to Adele Germain, the minor daughter of the insured, who was then residing with her maternal grandmother in Los Angeles, California.…
