Ali Ahmed, a former Pennsylvania prison inmate, appeals the District Court’s February 13, 2001 order denying his motion to amend his complaint against two state prison officers alleging excessive force. The District Court had previously dismissed Ahmed’s complaint on June 26, 2000 on the ground that he had failed to exhaust administrative remedies prior to commencing suit, as required by the Prison Litigation Reform Act (“PLRA”), 42 U.S.C. § 1997e(a) (2001).
