David Lee Williams was convicted following a jury trial of the crime of murder in the second degree in connection with the shooting death of Debra Barnes at his Fay-etteville, Arkansas, apartment on October 21, 1994. Appellant now contends that the trial court erred in denying his motion for directed verdict that was premised on his claim that the evidence was insufficient to show that he acted with a culpable mental state.
