The Attorney General for the state of Ohio, Anthony J. Celebrezze, Jr., sued Thermal-Tron, Inc. and its president, Akram Habib, for operating two infectious waste incinerators in contravention of Ohio EPA air contaminant emission standards and the terms of the company’s permit to install. (R.C. 3704.05[A], [C] and [H].) Following a bench trial, the court entered a verdict for the Attorney General, enjoined the operation of the Thermal-Tron incinerators, and ordered the defendants to pay a $41,300 fine.
