This is an action for breach of an oil and gas drilling contract, and related tort claims, arising from the drilling of wildcat wells in western Kansas. The drilling contract was between defendant Empire Drilling Company, a contract drilling company, and plaintiff Plains Resources, Inc., an enterprise engaging in exploring for oil and gas production on a wildcat basis.
