The plaintiff Shirley Harris, being a former client, sued the law firm of Petree, Stockton, Robinson, Vaughn, Glaze and Ma-ready, along with the individual defendants W. F. Maready and William H. Petree, for professional legal malpractice. From July *31976 to 18 January 1979 the law firm, principally through W. F. Maready, represented Shirley Harris in domestic matters against defendant Roger Harris, her former husband. Because William H.
