KENT, District Judge.

Plaintiff Charles Speed (“Speed”) brings this action against Omega Protein, Inc. (“Defendant”) for injuries he allegedly sustained while working aboard a vessel owned and operated by Defendant. Speed initially entered into an employment contract with Defendant on April 9, 2002, to work as a fisherman aboard Defendant’s vessel.
