Appellant Katelynn Garza was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. See Tex. Health & Safety Code § 481.121(b)(1). A jury found her guilty and imposed a $500 fine as punishment.

In this appeal, Appellant argued that the trial court erred when it denied her request for a jury instruction regarding illegally obtained evidence. See Tex. Code Ceim. PROC. art. 38.23(a).
