Plaintiff, City National Bank of Detroit (CNB), issued an irrevocable letter of credit to defendant partnership, Westland Towers Apartments, in the amount of $250,947. When the partnership refused to pay back this amount, plaintiff instituted suit against the partnership, the partners, and the partners’ wives. Plaintiff contended that the partners and their wives were liable on personal guarantees.
