Plaintiff, Bridgeport Music, appeals from the grant of summary judgment in favor of defendants, DJ Yella Muzick (Yella Muzick) and Songs of Universal, on its claims of copyright infringement. Specifically, Bridgeport claims its copyright interest in the musical composition “Eazy-Duz-It” was infringed by use of a sample from “Eazy-Duz-It” in the new composition “4 Tha E.” The district court found the claims were barred by a prior license.
